You can play by passing your mobile device back and forth between friends or have the app find you a remote opponent. Then create a new game and get started in no time.
Hanging with Friends Free's sign in process can be a little annoying. There's the typical request to enable push notifications, but you also either have to create an account or sign in with your Facebook account. Once you've muddled your way through that though, setting up your first Hanging with Friends Free game is relatively simple. If you don't already know how to play, there's also a good text tutorial that comes with the app.
The goal of Hanging with Friends Free is to create a word from the letters you're given. Contractions and words that are proper nouns aren't allowed, but pretty much everything else is fair game. Once you've created a word, your opponent has to guess letters, hangman style. Every wrong guess pops a balloon. They lose once all of their balloons are popped. You can also switch it up with Hanging with Friends Free by being the opponent and challenging yourself to guess another player's word.
The only real problem with playing an opponent on Hanging with Friends Free is you have to be willing to be patient. Their guesses could come in a matter or seconds, or you might be left waiting for days.
